Exclusive unreleased Track
Pianist Chris Morton is one of the busiest players on the Seattle jazz scene, playing in big bands, backing singers and instrumentalists and leading his own trio. We’re hoping for a studio album from them soon, but we’re glad to have this exclusive track to play for you. Chris is playing at Boxley’s this week with a cast of the regular characters. This track features his working trio of Nate Parker and Matt Page.
Upcoming show: Wed., July 11th @ Boxley’s - Metrilodic – “Untitled Excerpt”
From Sonarchy Radio
Saxophonist Eric Barber put together the band Metrilodic with Paul Kemmish on bass and Byron Vannoy on drums. These three master improvisers take the music in all sorts of directions, stretching and reaching with serious intensity. If you haven’t seen them yet, this would be a great show to take it, as it’s the first of three in Earshot’s “Jazz In The Second Century” series for 2011. These shows are always great, and this one will also feature our next performer…
Upcoming show: Thurs., July 12th @ Jazz in the Second Century - John Seman’s Lil Coop – “Medlenno”
Exclusive unreleased track
Bassist John Seman’s new group Lil Coop is a quartet featuring Mark Ostrowski on drums, Stephen Fandrich on piano and Billy Monto on alto. They are developing their own take on the music and are perfect for the Jazz In The Second Century series. A double-bill with Eric Barber’s Metrilodic sounds like a great night of forward-thinking music to us!
Upcoming show: Thurs., July 12th @ Jazz in the Second Century
See you in the clubs!
